| The city and half-timbered building museum "Old University" is located in the largest half-timbered house in the Eppinger old town, an Alemannic building from 1495. Its name reminds on the year 1564 as a part of the Heidelberg University when it was moved to Eppingen because of the Plague. The standing collection as well as the changing exhibitions are distributed on six levels and the attached "Small builder's house" and includes over 800 square meters of exhibition area. The "From early wood building to half-timbered style" section forms focus, which presents the history of the wood architecture from the surrounding region. Additional theme sections are the city history, the peasant everyday culture as well as a section on the history of the fire department. | ||||
