Since 1986, items have been assembled in our museum that had been used and treasured by our ancestors. An entire house full of nostalgic remembrances has been put together. In 21 rooms, our visitors experience up close how our rural ancestors spent and lived their everyday lives. Over 3,000 expositions turn the hometown museum in the former town hall and school house of the Brackenheim locality Botenheim into a "Theater for the mind" for our visitors. Old trades like locksmiths, coppersmiths, and cobbler's shops, the earlier region's jail, wash house, larder, kitchens, children rooms, music rooms, and a salon are presented. Additional living and exhibition rooms with clothing, hats, and all kinds of small items and not least the large meeting chamber with its yearly changing special exhibitions of pictures together with the real life impressive "Inhabitants" a large and comprehensive ethnological collection provides an amusing and stimulating thoughtful presentation.
