The Charlotte Zander private collection is the largest collection of Naive and Brut art in the world. In September 1996, it was made available to the public in Bönnigheim palace. The Munich collector Charlotte Zander over the course of 48 years assembled over 3,600 pictures and sculptures. The collection is not only spectacular because of its range but also because it is unique in its concentration. At the focus, is the painters of the classical French Naïve, for example, expositions by artists like Bauchant, Bombois, Séraphine, Rousseau and Vivin. Beside the works of the Naïve are also works of international Brut artists, like for example Adolf Wölfli and the artists from Gugging are represented. The collection is filled out with tattoo pictures, voting gifts, portraits, and genre pictures of the 19th century, Medial painters like Margarete Held, Heinrich Nüsslein, and sculptures from Poland and Jamaica. On the ground floor, changing exhibitions are available for viewing. Books and catalogs document the collection.
