Abstatt
The homeland museum Abstatt is accommodated in the top floor of the town hall. The old town hall was established as the official office of the Löwenstein Count in 1754.
Presently oil paintings on wooden panels are still preserved which can be viewed in the wedding ceremony room of the town hall. The collection's and exhibition's main focus is objects and documents on the area history of Abstatt and its localities Happenbach, Vohenlohe, and Burg Wildeck.
This ranges from finds from the Neolithic age to objects from the late 20th century. Priority is given to documenting and presenting the earlier everyday life in the region (agriculture, wine growing) and childhood over the course of time. In the new town hall section regular special exhibitions by contemporary artists take place.
